Gillian graduated from Brunel University, London in 2007 with an honours degree in Physiotherapy and completed core rotations in large teaching NHS trusts before going on to specialise in the Musculoskeletal field in 2010. She has worked extensively within both private practises and orthopaedic hospitals treating a wide range of issues including sports injuries, post-operative conditions and chronic pain. Previous roles have included Lead Physiotherapist in the design of rehabilitation courses for total knee replacements and post-operative shoulders. Gillian was also a hand specialist for many years dealing with the care of hand trauma and surgery.

Gillian has completed additional training including accreditation in Musculoskeletal Acupuncture in 2010, Dry Needling, Myofascial Release, Mulligan Concept Mobilisations and Neurodynamic-mobilisations of the Nervous System. She is also trained in Paediatric Vestibular Rehabilitation and Vestibular Ocular Rehabilitation, with particular emphasis in the management of post-concussion athletes.

Gillian is an experienced APPI trained Pilates instructor, having taught all levels from beginner to advanced since 2015 and currently teaches Pilates on a Monday evening here at Sandycove Physiotherapy. She has always had a keen interest in sport and body mechanics having been a member of both the Irish and Leinster swimming team for many years. Newer interests these days include golf and spinning classes.
